I will update this page every couple of weeks.

We’re well into the holiday season, which for my family also means a slew of birthdays. I’ve been balancing all those fun events and cookie making and Christmas shopping with writing and publishing. And, it’s working. I’m about 90,000 words into the new historical mystery series and having a blast with it. So, not quite reaching the end yet but I feel it creeping closer. Maybe next week or the week after I’ll have it out to the first reader…
For publishing news: my next novel in the Enchantment Avenue series is live! So check out Searching for Sanctuary if you’d like a fun mix of fantasy and romance for your holiday reads.

I’m later with this update than I would have liked, which I blame entirely on life with a five and two year old. Finding our new routine with the fall season, taking advantage of the low crowds at Disneyland (everyone else has gone back to school), and really, just enjoying life—like camping!
Currently, I’m writing the next story in my Elven Heritage series. This series in particular is the first one I’m rebooting, which means designing new covers, new blurbs, as well as another copyediting pass. There are even a few untold stories that have never been published before.
So, great fun for me seeing this slow, slow process finally picking up speed and snowballing down that big hill.
When you’re balancing life as a parent and a writer, especially when you don’t have school or daycares freeing up uninterrupted bits of time with no kids, it can be a challenge fitting it all in, all the learning, writing the new words. But like always, my family and I are figuring out, and like always, I have their complete support behind me all the way (or… most of the time… the two-year-old is quite opinionated when his needs aren’t met, you know, immediately).
I hope to be finishing this current novel, “Hidden in Time,” before jumping into my next story (and there are so very many stories I want to tell).
Thanks for checking in. Happy reading!

My current big focus is this website, and when you’ve only got a small bit of time and a two-year-old bent on total destruction of the home, it doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for much else. But, I am writing though it’s in a lot smaller chunks than before I had these two bundles of joy and endless energy. Also, the kids and I, along with six other homeschool families, will be going on our first camping trip in a few days, so that’s eating into some of the current brain power (and I like lists and being organized, and until I feel that way my brain is kinda on overload).
That said… I’m really excited to get back to the writing, to let my subconscious take a nice, deep (and calming) breath and dive back into the current story… which also happens to be the next story in my Elven Heritage series. I’m anxious and a little nervous to get back to Kate Silver’s story, to see where my storytelling voice takes me, but at the same time, I’m so excited to see where we go next (as well as what happens)…
